Bitstorm · Verification workbench
See what your signals carry.
A native Rust workbench: simulate, inspect waveforms and decode the data they carry. Work at the desktop, run scripts, or connect an AI agent.

Why it is different
A workbench built around the data, not around a file format.
Native windows, portable core
A Rust workbench with native windows and a portable analysis core, so the same engine serves the GUI, scripts and agents.
Waves and RTL on the GPU
Browse waves and hierarchy with native GPU rendering. Spread views across windows or monitors while background workers fetch values.
An AI agent is a first-class client
Set up projects, run tests and inspect results from the GUI, a script, a JSON client or an AI tool over MCP — the same commands every time.
From signals to video, memory and packets
Layer dissectors on a bus, then follow a decoded result back to the transfers that produced it.
Accepted transfers
Parse signals as an AXI4-Stream bus, with the transfers your design actually accepted.
Lines, frames, pixels
A UG934 video dissector on top of AXI4-Stream recovers lines and full-resolution images, and you can inspect individual pixels and colours.
Sparse memory from writes
An AXI4-Lite dissector reconstructs memory from observed writes. Bytes nobody observed stay marked as unknown.
NAL units and slices
Feed a reconstructed output buffer into an H.264 dissector to read sequence headers and slices beside the hex dump.
Each decoded record links back to the bus transfers that supplied it, so a broken frame or a colour error traces to a specific transfer.
Large traces, fast queries
Read from disk what the visible range needs; keep the interface responsive.
- Indexed VCD and FST: exact values read from disk, with a bounded page cache instead of the whole trace in RAM.
- Zoom from a full capture to a single transfer, compare signal values, and open extra views without waiting for a full load.
- During a live run, new waveform data appears in place: set a time range before the run and watch it fill.
Query timings measured on a five-frame, 23-signal trace with default caches, on Windows and Linux, 14 October 2026. These are data-query times, not file-load times or frame rates. The 20 GiB case is a separate synthetic trace tested with a 32 MiB source-page cache.
Agent-ready: desktop, scripts and AI tools
One shared session, one command set, four ways in.
Interactive work
Waves, hierarchy, dissectors and coverage in native windows.
Scripts and shell
Build a flow interactively, then copy its commands from the transcript into a Tcl script.
Structured clients
Drive projects, simulations and queries from another process.
AI agents over MCP
An agent discovers the same commands, then drives projects, simulation, waves, dissectors and coverage — and can start or stop Hydra runs itself.
project open h264.bitstorm.json
sim compile
sim run
sim assert-pass
coverage open
gui open review.session.json
The same operations are available through the command line and JSON. Projects and recordings can be prepared without a display on Windows, Linux or macOS, then opened in the GUI with waveforms, transcript and analysis settings ready.
Bitstorm + Hydra
Simulate, measure and replay in one place.
Stimulus
SystemVerilog classes and constraints describe legal transactions.
Simulation
Hydra's CPU, GPU or event engine runs them; the seed is saved.
Checks
Assertions fire against reference data, with full waveform context.
Evidence
Coverage shows what was exercised, what was missed, and what to test next.
Coverage, waves and the test configuration live in one saved session, so a failure reopens exactly where it happened. Reproduce it with the same seed.
Bitstorm is available for acquisition or non-exclusive license. Diligence materials under NDA, and a remote evaluation machine to benchmark your own RTL and testbench.
We grant access by hand, so we will reply directly.
